She had send her most of the childhood at the maternal aunt’s home in Ranaghat, West Bengal, as her parents died, while she was too young. Also, she said that she used to listen to Mohammad Rafi, Mukesh, and Lata Mangeshkar’s song. Singer Ranu got married at the age of 19 but later she relocated to Mumbai along with her husband, while they both were in search of work.
