England Cricketer Alex Hales has been ruled out of the England preliminary squad for ICC World Cup 2019 following the drug ban of 21 days. According to the ECB statement, ECB’s Managing Director of England Men’s Cricket, along with England National Cricket selectors, headed by Ed Smith took the decision to withdraw Alex Hales from all England squads ahead of the international season.

“Consideration was given to creating the right environment within the team and ensuring that there are no unnecessary distractions and that the team is in the best position to succeed going into this crucial period,” written in the statement.
Following the ban on Alex Hales, he will not travel to Ireland for ODI match on Friday in Malahide. Also, Alex Hales gave been removed from England’s squad for the Royal London ODI series against Pakistan. In a major blow to the English cricketer he has been ruled out of the preliminary ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup squad.
