The impact of Cyclone Fani has begun. HR Biswas, Director of Met Department, Bhubaneswar told ANI that the impact of landfall process has started. The wind of the strong Cyclone Fani could go up to 200-300, while it makes the landfall, warned Indian Meteorological Department. Usually, Cyclone in the Bay of Bengal creates a ruckus, but Cyclone Fani in Odisha is going to leave a lot of residue behind it. Cyclone in India is the most devastating calamity which usually claims a lot.
Cyclone Fani has hit the Puri district in Odisha. Meanwhile, fresh visuals from the coastal town of Digha in West Bengal are out now. According to the Met Dept, the impact of landfall process has begun. Likewise, NDRF personnel at Paradip sea beach vacate the area as strong winds and rain hit the region. Cyclone Fani has made landfall in Puri district.
Cyclone Fani is also known as FONI which is said to be the most severe cyclonic storm since the super cyclone of 1999 that claimed close to 10,000 lives. In 1999, Cyclone left a trail of destruction in vast swathes of the state, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre.
